STAGE
Back of Burke, PACT Theatre
For over twenty years I have maintained an artistic practice, predominantly working in the forms of theatre and performance. I have worked in the roles of performer, writer, director, dramaturge and educator, working within a variety of contexts, including arts companies, festivals, youth arts centres and secondary schools. My practice has largely focused on self-devised work in both solo and collaborative contexts.
Theatre was my entry point into ritual, word, story, song, creativity and expression. This was on the stomping grounds of Western and Inner Sydney, where I was privileged to be a part of a vibrant time and community within the performing arts, working with a diverse number of artists, companies, festivals and practitioners at the forefront of contemporary performance practice.
I worked and performed with companies such as Urban Theatre Projects, PACT Theatre, ATYP, Big West Festival, Next Wave Festival, Punctum Arts, Metro Arts, Campbelltown Arts Centre, engaging in various forms and roles as an independent artist and ensemble member.
I trained at Theatre Nepean, Western Sydney and later moved south to engage in post graduate studies at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, where I met a whole new community of arts companies, practitioners and peers.
I have also worked in a variety of educational contexts, developing a pedagogical practice, offering my passion for performance, expression and arts education in various contexts including youth arts and secondary schools.
